Hi, I am Onno, a: ^1000 UX Designer,^1000 UI Designer,^1000 UI Developer^1000.^2500
Hi, I am Onno, a: UI Creator!
I've been helping top high-tech companies with creating sensible user interfaces for their often very complex products for 28 years. I have a background in front-end development and have been active in the usability field from even before the UX profession was known as such!
My key values are: openness, honesty, attention to detail and a strong belief in leaving people in their value to get the best out of them. I have been described and having a slightly weird mix of looking at things with a critical eye, yet still easy-going and fun to work with!
I always look for the connection between people and different views and try to bring them together.
My goals are to contribute to beautiful quality products that excite, are easy to use and have attention to detail. I like to help organizations with improving the UX of their products. I am strongly user centered oriented and get my motivation from working on interaction and visuals, preferably in a team of peers.
I have worked as UX and UI Designer and have a long past as a front-end developer, often doing lots of UX work on the side. My strength is in being an all-rounder in the whole process of designing and building UI’s and because of my technical background, I have an excellent grasp of what is easy to build for the dev team, and what not.
Fun fact: I followed more trainings than you!
And of course, I am:
I can help you with...
User / Customer Experience Design
User interviews, observations, personas, journey mapping: I’ll do the research before executing my favorite part: Interaction Design (IxD). Low- and high-fidelity prototypes are my main tools as I define and design complex applications.

UI Development
While I left my full-time development days behind me, I can still help out with some coding for prototypes or to get things going in your project.
Ah that cliché question: What is your process?
Let me respond with the ultimate UX answer: It depends!
In general, I follow the principles of Design Thinking and the Double Diamond process.
Question Zero? Customer Journey Maps? Interviews? Observations? Personas?
Idea Generation Workshops? Low-Fidelity Prototypes? High-Fidelity Prototypes? User Testing?
Well... it depends!
In practice, there isn't a single process. It is always tailored to the needs and possibilities within the client and the job at hand. Let's work toghether to see what suits your project!
